Germany got into a quite easy group with Australia, Serbia and Ghana. Even though, each team which participates in the world cup should never be underestimated, these are not the worst adversaries.
This will give the Germans a smooth start, without loosing too much strength to reach the qualification for the round of 16. Probably, that could be a huge plus in the finals, since the turnament is long and exhausting.
Another big advantage of the German team is their mental strength. Even in a very important game, they never loose their head. And world class players like Michael Ballak, Bastian Schweinsteiger or Lukas Podolski need only one chance to make the decisive goal.
However, Germany will loose 0:1 against Brazil in the final on 11th July 2010. Sorry.

The Germans were hit very hard by the loss of Michael Ballack. It's their captain and the best player. I guess that will prevent them from becoming world champion. Sorry, this year it will be the Netherlands!

I've seen that in the poll about who is going to be world champion, Germany is heavily in the lead. To be honest, I think the loss of a main player like Ballack motivates every single player in the team so show more responsability and to give that little extra effort in order to go far in the world cup. Don't underestimate the Germans. It's one of the best teams in the world. They don't rely on Ballack!
